Moshpix: Bucktown looked more like the Lincoln Park Zoo Saturday as snakes, monkeys, donkeys and even camels were on hand to help AKIRA celebrate its 10 anniversary. The retailers decked out its three North Avenue stores with a Middle Eastern Bazaar theme, complete with belly dancers and fortune tellers. AKIRA was founded by a trio of friends who went to the University of Illinois together, Jon Cotay, Eric Hsueh and Errika Wang -- and has expanded from a single store to 17 boutiques in the city and suburbs with plans to open an 18th store in Hyde Park this fall.
