Your Weekend Forecast: Busy

Better take a nap this afternoon -- you've got places to go the next three nights

This weekend is looking very promising as far as nightlife events are concerned, and -- bonus -- the fun starts on Thursday. No sitting on some nondescript barstool for you -- these endeavors will give you something to talk about on Monday morning (after giving you something to sleep off on Sunday).

The Weekend Starts Here: Stylish West Loop lounge Red Kiva has just introduced a new nightlife concept this week -- "Tronic Thursdays." Every week at 8PM, DJ Uncle El will spin funky, futuristic soul and hip-hop while accompanied by live percussion. Also setting the vibe will be local artist Won, who will create a live art installation on the spot. Drink specials include $5 Absolut cocktails, $4 draft beers and $3 bottles of Busch beer.

Flashback Friday: You have a love/hate relationship with the '80s -- you love the music, you hate the old pictures of yourself from that time. Embrace the paradox at "DecaDANCE," Rednofive's throwback party. Taking place at the hot River West club this Friday, March 6 from 9PM-4AM, "DecaDANCE" will feature all that you miss about the over-the-top era (totally awesome tunes courtesy of DJ John Curley, dancing 'til the wee hours) and even stuff you wish you could forget (guests are encouraged to don their '80s best, so whip out the Aqua Net). RSVP to www.rednofive.com for a discounted $10 cover -- just like the good old days.

Play Per View: Head to Stretch Run Sporting Club and Grille in River North to catch the Jackson vs. Jardine UFC match at 9PM on Saturday, March 7. Stretch Run's 240 TVs will air the event, and the bar will serve up themed food and drink specials throughout the night. Feast on the "Chicken Creatine" ("juiced up" roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies, $12.95), the "Ultimate Burger" (an Angus beef burger with cheddar cheese, bacon and fried egg served with onion rings, $10.95), and "Backyard Brawl Wings" (six whole chicken wings doused in a so-hot-it-hurts barbecue sauce). Get juiced with drinks like "The Rampage," "Knockout Lemonade" and "Jardine's Jackhammer," each priced at $4-$5. Admission is $5 per person at the door.
