Actor enters treatment for sex addiction

David Duchovny––the star of "Californication", a TV show about a lust-driven Hollywood writer––reportedly entered a treatment program for sex addiction. In a statement issued by his lawyer Stanton Stein, Duchovny told People magazine, "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

Film and television star David Duchovny gained wide acclaim as UFO-chasing FBI agent Fox Mulder on "The X-Files." He starred in a second movie based on that series with Gillian Anderson that was released this summer. Duchovny's latest television work has been in the Showtime series "Californication," the tagline of which is "Hank Moody [Duchovny] ... No man is more committed to a midlife crisis."

In real life, Duchovny has been married to actress T<&eacute>a Leoni since 1997 and the pair have two children.
