Father Greeley Won't be Home For Christmas

Priest recovering from early November accident

Father Andrew Greeley continues to recover from an accident in early November that left him in critical condition.

While on his way to the airport in early November, his jacket got caught in a cab door. As the vehicle began to pull away, the 80-year-old priest fell to the ground and hit his head, fracturing his skull.

Greeley remains hospitalized at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago on Monday.

NBCChicago has learned that he may go home at the end of the year.

His public relations contact said he's getting better and getting bored, but is in no way ready to do any interviews.
