This week's Word on the Street segment was shot at Quartino Restaurant during its monthly wine tasting. Every last Wednesday of the month they hold a wine tasting with a different theme. For $20 you get all the tastings you want, along with an expansive hors d’ouerves table. Judging by the full crowd at the most recent event, the secret's out. All of the featured wines are also available for only $10 a bottle, another excellent deal. Log on to www.quartinoschicago.com for more information.
As for this week, there's plenty of stuff going on in the "streets."
- Dance Chicago just kicked off its season. More than 130 companies will perform 300 works from now until the end of the month at the Athenaeum Theatre. All dance genres will be represented from ballroom to steppin’. Log on to http://www.dancechicago.com for more information.
- As the temperatures continue to drop, we’re all thinking about indoor activities. Why not start at the Field Museum where they’ve kicked off a new exhibit called The Aztec World. Explore the grandeur and sophistication of one of history’s greatest civilizations, the Aztec Empire. Log on to www.fieldmuseum.org for more information.
- Ladies, get an early jump on your Christmas shopping, or, forget the justification and head over to Sip, Shop, Chicago, this Saturday at Galleria Unico. It’s a unique shopping experience that brings together prime Chicago boutiques and fashion conscious women. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local charities.
