GAY IDOL: The search is on for the best amateur gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) singers in the Chicago area in the Windy City Gay Idol, now in its 8th year. The winner gets $1,000 in cash, a pair of American Airlines tickets and a host of other stuff. The finals will be held June 19th at Sidetrack, but preliminaries will be held at various spots around town, starting tonight at The Glenwood. 8 p.m., 6962 N Glenwood

CHI FASHION: The 312 Fashion Series kicks off a three-night extravaganza at the Loft on Lake. Local designers Kate Boggiano, Borris Powell, Anna Hovet and Jess Audey will be on display, hosted by Rockit Ranch's Arturo Gomez and beats by the incomparable DJ Sye Young.
