Decision 2008: Which Party?

So many parties. So many choices. We've got election night options for you.

Just like the ballot...these are in no particular order.

ROCK THE VOTE PARTY OF CHOICE PARTY
Voter empowerment is the the theme for Rock the Vote Party of Choice at Crimson Lounge. Whether you lean to the left or to the right, voters can celebrate the fact that Rock the Vote registered 2,510,273 voters this year alone. Who wouldn't drink to that?

Please RSVP to this event at rockthevote.chicago@gmail.com
333 N. Dearborn, Chicago

CHICAGO TRIBUNE POLITICAL PARTY
OK. They're our competition, but we are above that. They may be cutting staff, but that's no reason not to party tonight at House of Blues. Think news junkies meets live music and drinks. Dangerous. It's $5 if you can prove you voted today. $15 if you didn't (shame on you). RSVP to rockthevote@tribune.com
All ticket proceeds go to Rock The Vote and Chicago Tribune Charities, a McCormick Foundation Fund.

COLUMBIA COLLEGE VIEWING PARTY
You've got to fight for your right to party. So Columbia College and ACLU joined forces to host an Election Night View and Skew party featuring results viewing and discussion.

The Court
731 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago
Contact: (312) 369-7805.

PROGRESSIVE TALK ELECTION NIGHT PARTY
Free is the operative word for Chicago's Progressive Talk (820-AM, 92.5-FM, 92.7-FM and 99.9-FM) event. (We'll quiz you on all those call letters tomorrow). By the way, is there irony in the fact it's at the 'Mad' River Bar and Grille. NBC 5 Political legend and Progressive host Dick Kay will be there. This is for SERIOUS political junkies.

7 p.m.
2909 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago

POST-PARTY AFTER PARTY
This is hard core. Hard Rock Hotel Chicago has got the "Post-Party After-Party" package. It's complicated and frankly, we're not sure they have rooms left. The deal involves champagne and a discount (if your candidate wins) - but you need to get a room.  If you just want to party, they've got "right wing, red, conservative" drinks as well as "left wing, blue, liberal" cocktails to enjoy with your results.

Hard Rock Hotel Chicago
230 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago

ELECTION WATCH PARTY
This is for the artistic party types. The Loyola University Museum of Art Election Night party promises "patriotic food" (huh?) and Libertinis (that we understand). Cut and paste the browser page below to get the details.

RAINBOW PUSH ELECTION NIGHT WATCH PARTY
Rainbow PUSH and the Rev. Jesse Jackson are opening the national headquarter doors to Chicagoans to watch the historic election. Good place to be if Obama becomes the first African-American president. No drinks, but the choir will be singing.

SINGLES WATCH PARTY
Leave it to Joe's on Weed St. to turn the election into an opportunity for singles. We thought talking politics on a first date was taboo. Good luck.
