When the Macy's Holiday Windows Will Open on State Street

The 51st annual window display at Macy's on State Street will be opened Saturday

Macy’s has started preparing their annual holiday window display for their State Street location.

The 51st annual display will be opened Saturday and remain on display through Jan. 6, the company said.

“Macy’s iconic events and displays have become an annual tradition as crowds gather to view the charming animated windows and marvel at the 45-foot tall Great Tree in the historic Walnut Room,” Macy’s said in a statement. “The magic of Macy’s will give guests plenty of reasons to believe.”

And that’s not the only holiday event already being prepped for the season.

Chicago’s 105th Christmas tree was also cut down Thursday and headed for the city’s Millennium Park.

The city’s annual tree lighting ceremony is set for Nov. 16.
