What You're Doing Tonight: January 29

A bistro beer dinner, a discussion with Bill Ayers and a rock musical premiere

VOULEZ-VOUS BREW? Bistro 110 hosts a "Winter Beer Reception" tonight, complete with a warm brew to start the evening, followed by small plates paired with six specialty beers. On tap are locally made Two Brothers Avalon Spiced Ale and Domaine DuPage French Style Country Ale, plus Bell's Amber Ale, Stella Artois and other brews. 5:30-7:30PM, $40, reservations required at 312-266-3110.

HMM, THE NAME SOUNDS FAMILIAR: Remember Bill Ayers? Meet him in person tonight, along with Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' fellow founder of the Weather Underground Organization. The political activists will be discussing their new book, "Race Course: Against White Supremacy," at the International House on the University of Chicago campus. 6PM, free.

ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL: Local rock legend Jon Langford's musical musings on American immigration have become "Goldbrick," a unique musical performed by a band with video segments, presented by Walkabout Theatre and Collaboraction. Catch the world premiere tonight at The Building Stage in West Town. 8PM, $15-$27.50.
