What You're Doing Tonight: January 30

Drink a fine pint, see a classic drama or hear a hot new band -- your call

GUINNESS RECORD: Celebrate the "Best Pint in America," an accolade bestowed upon Avondale's Chief O'Neill's Pub by the Guinness beer company. The party features $1 pints from a pour-your-own-Guinness station, a complimentary appetizer buffet (4-6PM), live Irish music (6-8PM), a set by DJ Crooked Kilt and giveaways. Guinness reps from Ireland will be on hand to award the pub with a trophy. 4PM-2AM, no cover.

FAMILY TIES: "The Sand Castle," a classic drama by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson, involves a mother whose boyfriend arrives at a family gathering to announce that nearby cliffs have collapsed into the ocean. Tense situations ensue. Presented by Theatre Seven of Chicago at the Chopin Theatre in Wicker Park. 8PM, $14-$18.

NEXT BIG THING: Hey Champ, a three-piece band straight outta Rockford and fresh off of a tour with Lupe Fiasco, will throw down a live set, including its hit single, "Cold Dust Girl," at Lumen tonight. Party like a rock star with a hosted bar from 9-10PM. 9PM-2AM, $10-$20, RSVP for hosted bar at info@lumen-chicago.com.
