BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY: Accomplished author Jay McInerney will join the acclaimed "Writers on the Record" series with Victoria Lautman tonight at the Harold Washington Library Center. 6PM, free.

BLAME IT ON RIO: Latin hotspot Nacional 27 presents a samba-and-style party tonight, replete with a swimwear fashion show, Carnaval dancers, a live samba band and dance lessons. Sounds steamy to us. 10PM-2AM, $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
