What You're Doing Tonight: New Year's Eve Edition

A Winter Classic shot, an early NYE at Navy Pier, the last chance for Scrooge

Sure, there are plenty of New Year's Eve bashes to pick from (if you haven't made your plans already, click here and here STAT), but there is also an array of daytime and off-the-radar activities to keep you occupied through January 1. Happy New Year!

WHAT THE PUCK: Spend the afternoon at Murphy's Bleachers for the "Jager on Ice Shoot the Puck" tourney. Play sports and trivia games for a chance at shooting a puck into the net from across the room. The top three winners get a pair of rooftop tix to the sold-out Winter Classic on New Year's Day at Wrigley. There will also be a raffle for Blackhawks-signed gear and Jagermeister swag. 1-4PM, no cover.

LAST CALL: It's just not the holidays without seeing "A Christmas Carol" at the Goodman Theatre. Today's matinee is the last of the season, so make haste or you'll be scrooged. 2PM, $15-$70.

NEW YEAR'S EARLY EVENING: Bring the fam to Navy Pier for a "New Year's Eve Early Family Festival and Fireworks." The festivities start with live music and dance performances and culminate in a fireworks display over Lake Michigan for the early-to-bed crowd. 6PM, free.
