What You're Doing Today: Groundhog Day Edition

Eat alfresco for free, see a movie about Trekkies or celebrate the simple crepe

ALFRESCO INSANITY: Think Groundhog Day is all over once Punxsutawney Phil sticks his head back in his hole? Think again at the fourth annual "Groundhog Day Lunch" at South Water Kitchen in the Hotel Monaco in the Loop. This sadistic idea involves outdoor seating and a free lunch. Seatings at 11AM and 12:15PM. Bundle up and find a seat in the sun!

STILL HUNGRY? If the food fest that is the Super Bowl didn't satiate you yesterday, head to Brasserie Jo in River North for the French restaurant's Crepe Festival through Sunday. You'll be celebrating "La Fete de la Chandeleur," the French holiday honoring crepes (yes, seriously) with such creations as baked ham-and-cheese gratinee, beef bourguignon and banana-and-warm caramel crepes. 5-10PM, prices vary.

TREKKIES UNITE: See a sneak peek of "Fanboys," director Kyle Newman's new film (which will hit the screens on Friday) about five "Star Wars" fanatics who set out to steal a copy of "Star Wars Episode I" before it's released to the public. An after-party will take place at the nearby Galleria Unico. At the AMC Loews Cineplex in River North. 7PM, $15.
