Wanna Be a Broadway in Chicago Star?

(Or… at least have a walk-on role in 'Wicked'?)

You always did fancy your name in lights – Broadway lights, that is.  While that hasn't exactly happened so far, perhaps a little bit of your dream could come true, and you can have the satisfaction of helping others at the same time.

Theater patrons can make a $20 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) for a chance to win a walk-on role in 'Wicked' before the last show in January. A limited number of raffle tickets will be available for purchase Dec. 3 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre at 24 W. Randolph St. 'Wicked' will offer participating patrons a reduced-price ticket to the 7:30 p.m. performance that evening. All raffle ticket donations will benefit BC/EFA, an HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.

Up to three grand prize raffle winners will appear on stage in full costume and make up, but don't think these professionals are just going to throw you up there right off the street without a clue. Winners will have a costume fitting and a brief rehearsal before the walk-on date so they don't do anything silly like wander into the orchestra pit. Audience members can also make $20 donations following each performance through Sunday, Dec. 7for a chance to win. Winners will be notified on Tuesday, Dec.9.  Who knows… this could be your big break!
