Visit Shopbop's Stylish HQ in Madison

You probably already know the Shopbop website for its mind-boggling selection of on-trend looks. But did you know the bricks-and-mortar location that started it all is just a three-hour drive away in the charming college town of Madison, Wisconsin?

Yes, that's right, those co-eds have plenty more style to shop from than you might think possible in a big ten college town. Think of it as a pared-down version of the website: lines like Alice + Olivia, Citizens of Humanity, and Winter Kate are all well represented.

The bright blue shop, has a fun modern vibe, with metal racks, track lighting, Shopbop fashion art lining the walls, and plenty of space to prowl around the well-stocked sections. It's also roomy, with another half level upstairs, and has a whole wall dedicated to denim—a good thing, because the shopgirl we chatted with said this season's hottest items are colored cutoffs. She also said the general vibe in store now is currently all over the boho-chic trend, with crocheted crop tops, sheer tops, and flowing skirts.

Erica Cook, who owns Trillium in Chicago, used to be a buyer for Bop. Of her former workplace, she says, "it's kind of cool that the original location exists in this small town. I feel like girls that are really into fashion would find it interesting to see."

Bop, 608-255-257-0222, West Gorham Street, Madison, WI, 150 miles NW of Chicago; 3.5 hours by bus; 3.5 hours by Amtrak.
