Two adults were hospitalized and a family may be left homeless after a fire started in a high-rise apartment building early Tuesday in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side.
At 1:46 a.m., a still-and-box alarm and an EMS Plan 1, which automatically sends five ambulances to the scene, were initiated for a fire that started in a second-floor unit of the 11-story building on the 4600 block of South Ellis Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva.
