MIX IT UP: An annual New York staple heads to Chicago this year when Taco Tuesday takes over Crimson Lounge. While they compete, you can take in the action while enjoying $4 Dos Equis beer and three for $10 tacos. Two more weekly events will be held through the end of the month. 6-10 p.m., 333 N. Dearborn St, NO COVER

GRAND OPENING: D.S. Tequila Company is celebrating its grand opening week with specials that include Tex Mex-inspired $2 tacos, $3 margaritas, $4 frozen beverages, and $5 burgers. The east Lakeview restaurant and sports bar features an "Old West chic" decor, a custom concrete poured bar, all within walking distance of Wrigley Field. Wednesdays offer trivia night and Country Night Thursdays offers arm wrestling competitions. 3352 N. Halsted St.

ROCK OUT: Our friends over at CheekyChicago.com insist you check out the band The Temper Trap at the Metro tonight. "We all loved the movie '(500) Days of Summer,' and if you haven't seen it yet -- run, don't walk, to your nearest Netflix. Come hear the band that made the movie. (Or did the movie make the band?) Regardless, they are also the band everyone is talking about. See why. 6:30 p.m., 3730 N. Clark St., Tickets $20
