Tonight: Kick it With Kid Cudi

Plus, supporting local art and a rockin' debate

MR. RAGER: Perhaps no album is as anticipated this year as Kanye West's forthcoming CD, but those in the know have been as equally excited his protege, Kid Cudi, dropping his latest work. "Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager" hit store shelves on Tuesday, and tonight, Chicago gets a taste of this star in the making. Cudi will appear at an album release party at Bucktown's RSVP Gallery from 6-8 p.m., where you must buy a CD or an LP -- vinyl records for you kids out there -- in order to get inside. Later in the evening, Cudi hits the popular weekly @superfun party at JBar Lounge for an album release party. Don't be surprised if he blesses the mic at that one. Jbar's doors open at 9 p.m., but early arrival is suggested for both events if you're even thinking about getting inside.

LOKal ART: Wicker Park restaurant and lounge, LOKaL, is stepping into the local art realm by exhibiting the works of artists. The artwork is rotated on a bi-monthly basis, and tonight the next installation by David Gista will be unveiled. Join the cocktail party and mingle with the artist David Gista and fellow art enthusiasts while bobbing your head to a DJ and enjoying some complimentary apps. 5-7 p.m., 1904 West North Ave, FREE

ROCKY DEBATE: Beatles or Rolling Stones? It's the elemental rock question, and esteemed critics Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis have tackled that question with their latest book "The Beatles vs The Rolling Stones: Sound Opinions on the Great Rock and Roll Rivalry." The authors will be on hand tonight at the Chopin Theatre for a book signing, where you can get a 10 percent off on the new tome. And continue the great debate. 6 p.m., 1543 W. Division St., NO COVER
