Tonight: Hang Out with a “Friend”

JUST A FRIEND: Actor turned director David Schwimmer presents his film "Trust" tonight as part of the Chicago International Film Festival. The film is based on the play Schwimmer originally produced at Lookingglass Theatre. Schwimmer will hold a Q&A following the film and will also be on hand for a two-hour reception at Rockit Bar & Grill afterward that benefits Cinema/Chicago and Rape Victims Advocates. 8 p.m., AMC River East 21, $50 for movie and reception.

SCARY STUFF: Get in the Halloween spirit by heading over to the Fear Haunted House at Navy Pier. Weave your way through a maze of zombies, vampires and various monsters all trying their best to scare the bejeezus out of you. HauntedHouseChicago.com called this the best of its kind in the city, and you have until the end of the month to check it out. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., 600 E. Grand Ave. $20-$25.

THE 411: Mary J. Blige hits Nordstrom Michigan Avenue on today from 1-3 p.m. where she will launch her new sunglasses collection, Melodies by MJB, and take photos with customers -- if you buy a pair of the shades. Blige performed at the Chicago Theatre Sunday night.
