Tonight: Get Your Salsa On

Plus, literary humor and professional networking

SALSA NIGHTS: Sure it's only Tuesday, but you'd surprised how many people are out tonight for what's considered one of Chicago biggest Latin nights in Chicago at the massive Alhambra Palace. Salsa classes are held from 8-9:30 pm hosted by Rick Mangram of Hoton1salsa.com. There's room for 1,500 people, which means you shouldn't have any problems finding someone to dance with -- unless you have two left feet. 1240 West Randolph St, $5 with RSVP, $10 at door

LITERARY HUMOR: David Sedaris, The National Public Radio humorist and author ("Me Talk Pretty One Day") reads from his upcoming book, "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary" at the Steppenwolf Theatre. A discussion and book and CD signing follow. Shows will be held through Sunday. Extra tickets have been released for this hot show, so call (312) 335-1650 for availability. 7:30 p.m., 1650 N. Halsted St,

HAPPY HOUR: Round up your business cards and polish up the resume as Execulife hosts a networking happy hour tonight at the ShowPlace ICON Theater - Lobby Lounge. The happy hour includes one complimentary drink and light appetizers. It's an opportunity to network with other Execulife members on a smaller scale (in contrast to our large monthly events), in a casual setting after work. 5:30 - 7 p.m., 150 West Roosevelt Road, Register here
