Tonight: Actors Playing Rock Stars

Plus, fusion art and meeting a local Dukie

ACTING MUSICALLY INCLINED: Let's be honest -- bands with actors playing wannabe rock stars usually aren't that good, but that doesn't mean they're not worth checking out, if only for the star factor. To wit, "CSI: NY" cast member Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band perform tonight at Hard Rock Cafe. It's a charity event to support wounded service members from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Let's hope they don't sound like wounded animals on stage. 9:30 p.m., 63 West Ontario, $30

ARTISTIC FUSION: Local designer Rosina~Mae, known for her Lady Gaga-inspired fashion shows, presents the "Melting Luxe" show tonight at the Ugly Step Sister Art Gallery in conjunction with The Art Trade and Lidia Wachowska of Evil Kitty. The show celebrates the merging of different artistic luxuries, so expect lots of live music, crazy hairstyles, body paint and very little chance your ugly and evil step sister will actually show up. 8 p.m., 1044 W. Fulton Mkt., FREE

LOCAL DUKIE: Illinois high school legend and recent Duke national champion Jon Sheyer hits Bull & Bear tonight, his first local appearance since winning the NCAA title. Sheyer's appearance is in support of the Brandon Dann Rotstein Foundation charity. Ten bucks gets you into the reception, $25 gets you a signed t-shirt. 6 - 9 p.m., 431 N Wells
