Fans of Nignel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls (that is Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, respectively) of the timeless heavy metal tale "This Is Spinal Tap" will want to whip out the plastic this Saturday, March 7. Tickets go on sale at 10AM for the "Unwigged & Unplugged" tour, featuring the comedy icons behind Spinal Tap and The Folksmen from "A Mighty Wind." The show will take place at the Chicago Theatre at 8PM on Saturday, May 30, and tickets will set you back $35-$55.
The six-week, 30-city tour, a first for the prolific comedic team, will be entirely acoustic (and fake hair free) and will feature songs from "This Is Spinal Tap" (oh, to hear "Big Bottom" live!) and "A Mighty Wind," plus other musical surprises and rare nuggets. Because this is an acoustic show, there's no need for the famous amps that "go to 11" or for a Spinal Tap drummer -- named one of the world's most dangerous professions.* (*Not an actual fact.)
