Enjoy X-Mas With “The Nightmare Before Christmas”

Plus Rhymefest on "The Interview Show" and late-night shopping in Andersonville

HALLOWEEN MEETS X-MAS: Don’t think about opening that copy of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” because Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” gets a midnight screening at the Music Box. This wonderfully demented X-Mas movie follows Jack the Pumpkin King, the hero of a Halloween-themed world, as he goes through an existential crisis that causes him to take up the role of Santa Claus. But Jack’s misunderstanding of the holiday leads to some unfortunate surprises. 3733 N. Southport Ave.; Lakeview. Midnight. $9.25.

Q&As: Hip-hop artist Rhymefest and “The Time Traveler’s Wife” author Audrey Niffenegger stop by Mark Bazer’s “The Interview Show” at the Hideout. Also appearing are “Top Chef” winner Stephanie Izard and James McManus, author of “Cowboys Full: The Story Of Poker.” 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.; Noble Square. 6:30 p.m. $5. 21 and older.

LATE-NIGHT SHOPPING: Not everyone has the time or energy to go holiday shopping after a long day of working for the Man. Thankfully, some stores in Andersonville are staying open late for the worker drones. Check the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce’s website for more details. 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
