The New Trend in Shopping: Creative Boutique and Workshop Space in One

Rouse Boutique opens

While we love ourselves a new clothing store, there are plenty of those around town to choose from already.

But a new concept in the realm of boutiques has us feeling a little inspired already. It’s called Rouse (pronounced rowz), a boutique/workshop combo space that was created with the intention of “awakening your own creativity, passion, inner bliss, and self-love through an array of inspirational gifts, clothing, inviting workshops, classes and events for all ages.”

The Elmhurst store offers an array of socially conscious clothing and accessories by brands including Feed Projects, Raven and Lily and Bobium, with proceeds from each purchase going to help various charitable organizations across the globe.

But in addition to buying clothes that do a body (and soul) good, you can also renew your inner-self with art-themed workshops (get ready to awaken your creative juices), yoga and meditation classes, book clubs and even birthday parties.

"The best way to honor your true self is to discover what you love to do and do it!" co- owner Leslie Pozen says.

In short, it's time to do something good for yourself -- and do some shopping in the process.
