The Luckiest Brunch in Bucktown

Club Lucky begins serving Sunday Brunch

Club Lucky (1824 W. Wabansia) is famous for its Italian cuisine with Sicilian flavor and flair, but now the restaurant has come up with a Sunday brunch that promises to satisfy your snobbiest foodie friend or make your Saturday night hangover feel like a makeover.

Chef Anthony Reyes (former Executive Chef of Rosebud Restaurants) has created a brunch menu that rivals many of the trendy brunch houses around the city.

An Italian restaurant is the last place you'd expect to find pancakes and waffles this good, so make sure you try something from their sweet assortment of Buttermilk, Chocolate Chip or Banana Rum Pancakes with vanilla crème anglaise, nutella and cinnamon or the Malted Waffles with cannoli chocolate chip butter.

Other standouts include, Baked Pesto Eggs with parmesan tomatoes, three choices of Eggs Benedict (one of which includes fresh Maryland Crab Cakes with a spicy creole hollandaise sauce) and inventive appetizers like Prosciutto Wrapped Melon with balsamic syrup.

While you're perusing the menu, sip on a sleek selection of beverages which include Italian Lemonade, a blend of Limoncello with raspberry, orange or mango flavored vodka, the Strawberry & Basil Mojito, Peach or Pear Bellini, the classic Mimosa made with Prosecco, and the Ketel One "Lucky Mary," which comes with an antipasti garnish that could be considered an appetizer by itself.

If you're feel more like the "unch" side of things, check out the 1/2 lb Club Lucky Burger on a pretzel bun, the White Bean Veggie Burger, the Lucky Chicken Club with apple bacon, provolone and pesto mayo or the classic Pepper & Egg Sandwich with the optional fresh Italian sausage.

On the lighter side, Club Lucky offers salads such as the String Bean, Tomato & Gorgonzola Dolce, Nana’s Meatball Insalata or Fresh Fruit & Ricotta Due.

Brunch is served from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. inside their 1940s-styled supper club, or outside on the sidewalk patio. Call ahead ahead for reservations or just head on over -- we have a feeling it could be your lucky day.
