The Gaslight Anthem Lights Up Chicago

New Jersey rockers play Bottom Lounge

Friday night marked The Gaslight Anthem's first Chicago headlining show. The band has been steadily winning over fans with constant touring and growing radio play. The group has rolled through Chicago before, opening for such successful acts as Rise Against, The Bouncing Souls, and The Loved Ones.

A sold out 18+ crowd packed the Bottom Lounge to finally be able to witness a full set of tunes from the New Jersey rockers. The Gaslight Anthem's catchy lyrics and Springsteen-inspired sound had the audience singing along to every song.

The majority of Friday's set consisted of material off their latest release, The '59 Sound (SideOneDummy Records). Tucked in between the current tracks were a few old favorites like "Id'a Called You Woody, Joe", "The Navesink Banks", and "Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts". The late night set concluded with a two song encore and a crowd screaming for more.
