Take Your Best Friend on Vacation

Bring Sparky to Camp Dogwood this winter

Let's face it -- you love your dog more than you love most of your human friends, so it makes sense that Sparky gets a way better holiday gift than anyone else, right?  Treat your canine buddy and yourself to a weekend getaway at Camp Dogwood in Ingleside, Illinois – an hour from both downtown Chicago and Milwaukee.  The winter session runs from Friday, Jan. 16, to Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009. Winter Camp packages range from $300 to $475 and include all lodging, meals, and activities.

Some of the activities include snow coursing, trick training, freestyle dancing, pet massage and photography.

''We have designed our program to be reminiscent of sleep-away camp, keeping dog-related interests in mind, and afford adults a unique travel destination with their dogs,'' says co-founder Dr. Alysa Slay.

Situated on 180 acres of woods, wide-open fields and wetlands on the shores of Wooster Lake, Camp Dogwood uses the Camp Henry Horner Conference Facility for indoor activities, and offers two levels of accommodations: cabins and lodges (like dorm rooms), and guests are required to bring their own bedding, towels and dog food.

Human campers must be at least 18 years of age, and all dogs must have current vaccinations. Get more information by calling 312-458-9549 or e-mail info@CampDogwood.com.
