BOKA Named in “Top 10 Outdoor Dining Restaurants”

Cmoked salmon and potato terrine in Lincoln Park

Nobody loves a good alfresco spot more than Chicagoans, because the second the thermometer hits 65 degrees, we're setting up the patio umbrellas and breaking out the wrought iron chairs.

Now, in these waning days of warm weather, we're all looking to be outside as much as possible, and if you're gonna do it, might as well go with one of the best. MSN City Guides recently released its round-up of the  "Top 10 Outdoor Dining Restaurants in the U.S.", and Lincoln Park's own BOKA made the cut.

The write-up waxes poetic about BOKA's food ("Treats include a delicate smoked salmon and potato terrine with quinoa salad and spicy turnip puree and black truffle, and apple risotto with chamomile-dusted chicken thigh.") But what MSN doesn't tell you about BOKA's alfresco digs, we will.

The restaurant is on a surprisingly quiet little stretch of Halsted, just north of the Steppenwolf but before the retail madness near Armitage kicks in. There's a few tables situated on the front patio on warm nights, hidden away from street view (and exhaust fumes) by foliage and gracious fencing. But the real alfresco action is on the back patio, which is a spacious urban oasis dotted with flowers and candles.

Book your table now while you still can. Fall is coming, Chicago.
