Rick Moonen Turns to Chicago for Shrimp Dog Project

When you want a hot dog done right, you come to Chicago. Former Top Chef Masters cheftestant Rick Moonen has been in town recently conducting some production research at the Vienna Beef factory to create the first shrimp dog. Moonen told Vocalo's Steve Dolinsky (over a hot dog at Franks 'n' Dawgs, naturally), that he's been working to create a shrimp dog that will rival the classic frank, using a blend of garlic, ginger and scallion, and possibly a bit of tilapia.

Consulting with another former TCM cheftestant, Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia), Mantuano's connection to Levy Restaurants has come in handy for the project, given that the corporation caters to a majority of sports arenas across the country. While we don't doubt Moonen's ability to craft a fine dog, will it be enough to counter an American classic? [Vocalo]
