Officials in Will County are investigating whether a rabid bat found in a Naperville backyard may have come in contact with people.
In a news release, the county's health department says investigators are particularly concerned because the bat was seen hanging from the underside of a trampoline earlier this month.
That, they say, increases the likelihood that someone came in contact with it.
The bat was taken to the Illinois Department of Public Health, where tests confirmed that it had rabies. Officials say it's the fourth bat discovered in Will County since May 1 to have tested positive for rabies.
