Chicago's inventive and enterprising Redmoon Theater is known for its innovative and sometimes outlandish productions that incorporate everything from surreal stage props to complicated puppetry. The theater group doesn't stray from its whimsical, dreamlike visions for Spectacle Lunatique, Redmoon's annual benefit, which is set for this Friday, March 13. The anticipated event will be held at Redmoon Central in River West at 1463 W. Hubbard St., a raw warehouse-style space that serves as the perfect backdrop for whatever the highly original organization cooks up.
One of the most interactive fundraisers around, the expected 400 guests will be taken on a journey filled with staged vignettes, roving entertainers, seemingly spontaneous performance pieces and intriguing art installations found throughout the sprawling space. The Redmoon for Hire troupe (the events-based arm of the organization that offers hand-crafted art pieces for rent) and the ingenious Redmoon artistic and production staff get in on the act, so if you've ever seen a Redmoon production, you know you're in for a wild ride.
The Spectacle is set to begin at 6:30PM. Various ticket options are available and range in price from $75 to $625 for a couples package including a V.I.P. pre-party reception and reserved seating for two at the gala.
