Potato Pancake Smackdown

Want your own "Top Chef" moment? If you're a Jewish cooking diva, you just got your chance.

Executive ChefLaura Frankel of Wolfgang Puck's is challenging Chicagoans to submit their best potato latke recipe. (In honor of Hanukkah.)  A panel of cooks will review them, and pick a few to take on Chef Frankel at Puck's at the Spertus Center on Sunday.

In front of brunch-ing patrons, winners will cook their latkes, competing with Frankel's own potato creation. The cook-off will be judged by Ina Pinkney and Aaron Freeman.

If you can't cook, you can still brunch for $42 and watch the spud sparring go down. You'll also get copies of the winning recipes.

E-mail recipes to latkes@spertus.edu if you want to compete.
