They say you should judge a man by the shoes he wears, but when it comes to rare sneakers, you judge a man by what shoes he owns and never puts on his feet. Showcasing stylin kicks, the Sneaker Pimps trade show is coming to Chicago this Friday.
Marketed as "the world's largest sneaker show", Sneaker Pimps showcases over 1500 varieties of celebrity-signed, rare, limited edition, and vintage kicks -- so basically, everything from Adidas Decades, to crocodile skin Air Force 1s, to Bugs Bunny Air Jordan VIIIs (eh, what's up jock?).
Besides the sneaks on display, the show also features DunkXChange (basically a large scale shoe and streetwear swap meet), skateboarding demos, and live sneaker painting by Milwaukee's C2, a kicks customizer who's painted pairs for LeBron James and Sox pitcher Ryan Braun.
Sneaker Pimps will be headlined by rap duo Clipse.
The entire event's MC'd by Dave Jeff, proprietor of Hyde Park's PHLI, which many sneakerheads consider to be Chicago's premiere sneaker boutique.
8 p.m. Friday at 3730 N. Clark St, at N. Racine
