Despite being portrayed as just a wealthy heiress with nothing to do but sit by the pool and work on her tan, Paris Hilton says she’s the exact opposite — in fact, that’s just the beginning of the misconceptions the young woman who is famous for just being famous must contend with.
Though she is launching a new TV show, “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF,” promoting a documentary about her empire, “Paris, Not France,” along with managing a slew of products that carry her name, Paris sat down with Reuters to talk about the false impressions the public has about her.
“The one that ‘she doesn’t work’. I am literally running a huge corporation,” Paris told Reuters when asked about the public’s most popular misconceptions. “I have my clothing lines, my champagne, my watches, shoes and purses and dog clothes — every sort of product you can imagine. I am doing movies. I am doing my record right now, producing, starring in a TV show. So it is a 24 hour, seven day-a-week job. I work all the time, so I laugh when I hear people say that.”

Of course, much of her round-the-clock work involves being taped or photographed, which has become second nature to her.
“I am basically always on camera. From the moment I leave my house in the morning, the paparazzi are waiting there until I go to bed at night. So it is natural to be doing this TV show. I don’t even know the cameras are there. I still have my private life. When I go home I have my pets and my boyfriend,” she said.
And when Paris looks ahead to the future, she says family will be her first priority.

“I’ll probably be a mom with a couple of kids,” she said of where she sees herself in 20 years. “I’d love to have a big family. Running my business and not traveling so much. I’ll be in a lot of real estate businesses and hotels then. I’ll be running my business from home.”
And regardless of the fame, fortune and glamorous life, Paris says she leads a normal life and will always remember her roots.
