Oprah’s Michigan Avenue Party Bill Paid In Full

Check was delivered Friday

Thanks, Oprah.

The daytime diva has already paid the bill for the impossible-to-miss season premier party that shut down Michigan Avenue for two days this month.

Within 24 hours of receiving the $54,832 bill, the city was able to mark it paid in full.

"They had the checks cut and delivered this morning," Cindy Gatziolis, a spokeswoman for the city's office of Special Events, told the Sun-Times Friday. "That's pretty quick."

Here's a breakdown: $28,277 went to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications for traffic control between Sept. 7-9; $12,014 to the Chicago Police Department for off-duty officers; $7,075 to the Fire Department for "safety officers"; $6163 to the Bureau of Electricity to "remove traffic signals" and $1306 to the Department of Streets and Sanitation to cover the barricades.

No word on the tip.
