Odd Future, Feist Plan Fall Shows

You wouldn't know it from the current temps, but fall's not all that far away. And once the city's busy summer festival season dies down a bit, there's still lots to look forward to. From a reclusive Canadian songsmith to button-pushing skate-rap provocateurs, we've got details on how you can get yourself into a few of the fall's hottest shows.

ODD FUTURE
October 14 finds the much-chattered-about Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All making their second Chicago appearance, this time at Metro. Whatever you make of their ultraviolent, controversy-stoking albums, their set at last month's Pitchfork festival was an anarchistic highlight, and their Metro show is sure to sell out quickly. Tickets go onsale right here Saturday at noon.

ST. VINCENT
It almost seems an understatement to call acrobatically eclectic indie-rocker St. Vincent's third LP, Strange Mercy, one of the fall's most hotly anticipated LPs. Bandleader Annie Clark will bring her snakily dazzling fretwork and her unpredictable song structures to the stage at Metro October 5, and tickets are currently onsale. This one'll go quickly, so don't delay.

LYKKE LI
Swedish popster Lykke Li's slightly skewed takes on the radio single have slowly but surely won her an international audience, and her gripping, minimalistic stage show's really one to see. She's sure to win thousands of new fans at this weekend's Lollapalooza, so beat 'em to the punch and grab tickets to her November 14 show at The Vic right here, right now.

FEIST
It's been more than four years since Leslie Feist's folk-pop breakthrough, The Reminder, leapt from those iPod commercials and into your iTunes folder. After a prolonged period of silence, Feist will return in October with Metals. She'll make a November 4 appearance at The Riviera as part of a very brief Metals tour, and while ticket info hasn't been released yet, you'll want to keep an eye out; after four years away, Feist may be more popular than ever, and there's no way the Riviera will be able to contain all those years of bottled-up excitement.
