Locally Made Colette Candles Light Our Fire

Forest Park woman creates soy candles

Want your living room to smell like cupcakes? How about kumquats, or chai tea?

Colette Gleeson mixes all these scents, and several others, into her hand-made soy candles, which she pours in the back of her Forest Park apothecary, Shop Colette.

Her line of eco-friendly, locally made candles debuted over the summer, and since then several area boutiques like Smitten, Grasshopper 510 and Climate have all started carrying them. (They retail for $26.) You can also buy them online at coletteltd.com.

Not only do the candles come in yummy scents, the packaging is super cute (and recycled!), which makes it the perfect gift for anyone who lights your fire.

Or just likes the smell of kumquats.
