L.A.'s Lucha VaVOOM to make Chicago appearance

Violence. Sex. Comedy. If that sounds like your idea of a good night out, the Congress Theater is where you want to be on Friday when Lucha VaVOOM makes its first visit to Chicago.

Lucha VaVOOM offers the violence in the form of masked Mexican wrestling, retro burlesque stripteases in between the matches takes care of the the sexy category, and host Blaine Capatch ("Mind of Mencia," "Mad TV) brings the funny.

You certainly don't want to miss a chance to see the cross-dressing combatant Cassandro prove why he's the "Queen of the Ring," or Los Crazy Chickens squawking up a fuss and letting the feathers fly.

Plus, burlesque acts with names like The Wau Wau Sisters and Lux La Croix will shimmy and shake all night.

It's "sexo y violencia" at its best.

And it also explains why those dudes are always wearing those masks at the Mexican Independence parade.

Lucha VaVOOM, Sept. 18, Congress Theater (2135 N Milwaukee Ave), 8:30 p.m. Tickets $25.00-$60.00
