MLB Game Summary – Chicago Cubs at Seattle

Peoria, AZ (Sports Network) - Doug Deeds went 4-for-5 with two runs driven in and two runs scored, and the Chicago Cubs crushed the Seattle Mariners, 8-1, in Cactus League action.

Deeds hit two doubles, while So Taguchi also drove in a pair of runs for the Cubs. Ryan Dempster got the win after three scoreless innings, and Rich Harden contributed a pair of shutout innings in the start.

Russell Branyan knocked in Seattle's only run, and Yuniesky Betancourt added a double and a triple for the Mariners. Garrett Olson allowed two runs on three hits in three innings to suffer the loss.
