Lynn House - an esteemed Chicago mixologist - is making a power move. One of very few females in the male-dominated cocktail world, House honed her skills at two of Chi’s most progressive haunts, The Drawing Room and Graham Elliot. Now, She brings her highly-trained cocktail acumen to none other than Paul Kahan’s Blackbird as Chief Mixologist.
Feast caught up with House en route to Le Cordon Bleu in Austin to take part in a demo for Plate Magazine, and she had this to say: "I am very excited about my move to Blackbird, thrilled to be part of the team and am looking forward to this next chapter in my career….I really want the beverage menu to be in harmony with Chef Sheerin's menu. It is safe to say that a few of my signature drinks will be making an appearance as the season dictates." In two weeks time, House plans to premiere Blackbird’s new artisan cocktail menu complete with seasonal ingredients, rare spirits and unique twists.
