Reasons to celebrate tonight: 1) We have a new president-elect, and he's from our town. 2) We've almost survived a week after the time change, and while it's darker earlier, we're adjusting. 3) It's Friday. Do we need another reason?
The Museum of Contemporary Art (220 East Chicago Ave.) knows that Fridays are special, which is why they celebrate ''First Friday'' on the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Kick back with a cash bar and free Wolfgang Puck appetizers while grooving to music from local DJs. Enjoy the iMac G5 digital dating bar, and the featured up-and-coming Chicago artist in a preview of the latest UBS 12 x 12: New Artists/New Work exhibition.
First Friday tickets are $15 ($7 for MCA members) and include museum admission, live entertainment and appetizers. Buy them in advance for $10 by calling the MCA box office at 312-397-4010. You can also order them online. You must be 21 or older to enter.
If you can't make it tonight, the next First Friday will be Dec.5, so mark your calendar now.
