If sticking around Chicago this Labor Day weekend saves you some room in your vacation budget, Stephanie Izard suggests you blow it all on her upcoming "Supper at Steph's" charity dinner on September 9. A cool $500 buys you the chance to hang out at Izard's house as she prepares dinner paired with cocktails from BOKA's Ben Schiller and a special beer from Goose Island's Jared Rouben. Izard warns that the first "Supper at Steph's" got a little rowdy, so bring your party hat.
The menu and charitable beneficiary for the Sept. 9 dinner are in keeping with Green City Market's Locavore Challenge. Dinner ingredients will come solely from local farms, and all proceeds from the dinner benefit Spence Farms Foundation, which teaches the art, history, and practice of sustainable farming. Despite the hefty price tag, seats for the dinner will likely sell out quickly when they go on sale late tomorrow morning. Keep an eye on Stephanie Izard's Twitter for the exact timing of the sale.
