Mark Handforth Sculptures Come to MCA

A giant bone laid atop a telephone handset! A crumpled safety cone in an English bobby's hat! A lamppost snake, and a mangled coathanger? All in a day's work for Miami artist Mark Handforth, who'll debut four large-scale sculptures at the Museum of Contemporary Art starting July 8.

Handforth, whose work reconfigures items from industrial sites, will be displayed in the museum's plaza and on its west facade through October 10. Best of all, because it's showing outside the friendly confines of the museum itself, it's free to view.

If you'd like to catch Handforth and company while they set up, you can hit up the museum tonight at 5:30 p.m. for their free Tuesdays on the Terrace series, where saxman Kevin Nabors will perform.
