Joffrey Ballet Dancers Head to Equinox

Don Quixote-inspired class taught by Joffrey Ballet professionals

Perhaps it’s all the glamorous photos circling from the recent Couture and Cocktails event with the Joffrey Ballet that is causing us to have dance on the brain, but lately we’ve been inspired by pirouettes and pointe shoes.

And while most of us don’t have the skills to spin on stage, we can certainly give it our best shot by taking a few tips from the pros.

This fall, Equinox Fitness is partnering with the world-class ballet troupe to offer a new ballet-inspired class, uniting Spanish dances with popular ballet moves.

The Don-Quixote-inspired class will be led by professional Joffrey Ballet dancers, who will be teaching members strength, flexibility and balance technique through the series.

The class will be offered in October and November only, so now’s the time to open yourself up to something new. After all, when will you get another opportunity to learn dance like this from the pros?

The class will be offered Wednesdays from October 5th through November 9th, 8am-9am at the Equinox Gold Coast location and Thursdays from October 6th through November 10th, 7:15pm - 8:15pm at Equinox Lincoln Park.

The class is free for members, and non-members can visit the club or call to inquire about trying out a class for themselves.

Oh, and did we mention it counts as a workout? Two birds, one stone, people.
