Did they leave any fried chicken for anyone else?
Sorry if that cynical thought crossed our minds when we first heard that both Jessica Simpson and Kirstie Alley hit up Art Smith's Table Fifty-Two separately on Wednesday.
The 312 Dining Diva reports that Simpson "and her posse" showed up before the restaurant opened for lunch seeking fried chicken, and that the sous chefs had to run into work early to get the food ready.
Alley was in the restaurant later in the day filming her reality show. Both visits prompted Smith to post the following on his Facebook page:
"Wow, the eve before South Beach, and Jessica Simpson, calls me for lunch! She's gorgeous!!!!!!!! I am now entertaining Kristie Alley and posse, they are here shooting her new show for A and E. Lookout for my cameo!"
And you thought it was tough enough already trying to get a reservation in there.
Apparently Simpson didn't stop the chowing down there. She and BFF Ken Paves (along with three other pals) had dinner at Le Colonial later that night. It turns out they were all in town for the taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Simpson was seen sipping on Macellan 12 on the rocks while the rest of her party enjoyed saketinis. Perhaps Oprah drilled her with some tough questions?
The group all shared small appetizers, Shrimp Beignets, Tuna Tartar, Pho, Sup Man Cua, Goi Cuon, Bo Bia, Bo Sate Fried Rice, Bo luc lac and Cari Tom in the upstairs lounge and BFF hairstylist Paves paid the bill (and left a generous tip).
