Iron and Wine Play Free Show Tonight

Iron & Wine: Grab a bottle and head down to Millenium Park's Pritzker Pavilion tonight, as nimble folk mainstays Iron & Wine and newbies The Head & the Heart lead tonight's free Downtown Sound show. Weather permitting, this'll be a crowded one, so don't hesitate to show up early and get a little territorial with your picnic blanket placement; those Iron & Wine fans are vicious. 6:30 p.m.

Gimme Tinnitus: If the winsome, wistful folk of Sam Beam and company aren't your thing, perhaps a trip to the Empty Bottle's in order. Tonight, they host a punishing psych-punk triple-bill of Great Society Mind Destroyers, Grimble Grumble, and "loudest band in New York"—not to mention loudest band at last night's Do-Division Fest—A Place to Bury Strangers. $12 tickets available here. 9:30 p.m.

Sketchbook Fest: Head to the Chopin Theater tonight and catch the 11th annual Sketchbook Festival, a monthlong series that'll see the debut of 16 world premiere plays. Each performance sees eight plays hitting the stage, plus live music and art in the Chopin Space. $25 tickets available here. 8:00 p.m.
