Hideout Hosts Conservatory Benefit

The freak hailstorm that blew through Chicago last week did some pretty serious damage to 105-year-old westside flora sanctuary Garfield Park Conservatory. Now closed indefinitely while workers sort through the glass tossed around in the powerful storm, the Conservatory—surely one of urban Chicago's most serene locales—could stand some help.

Enter The Hideout, who'll host a special edition of their Soup and Bread hangout night this Wednesday, with all proceeds going to the Garfield Park Conservatory cause. Starting at 5:30 p.m., chefs from Big Star, Swim Café, City Provisions and others will cook up summer-centric cold soups, La Farine Bakery will bring the bread, and the Numero Group's Michael Slabock will supply the evening's tunes. There's no cover charge, although a donation is always requested, and this time around, especially important. If you can't make it over to Hideout Wednesday, you can donate directly to the Conservatory right here.
