Here Comes Chik-Fil-A — Finally

Chicken sandwich chain headed to Aurora

Chick-fil-A produces one of those food items that develops a cultish following -- think Krispy Kreme Donuts or In-N-Out burgers.

But many a Chicagoan who has spent any time in the Southeast has lamented the fact that there's no Chick-fil-A Inc. within clucking distance of the city. That will soon change.

Crain's Chicago is reporting that the Atlanta-based company has struck a deal to open a restaurant in Aurora, aquiring a property that previously housed a Smokey Bones restaurant, right next to the Westfield Fox Valley Shopping Center. The company plans to tear down the existing building and build a new restaurant with a drive-through.

Will this spark an influx of new Chik-Fil-A restaurants in the Chicago area? Not likely, according to Crain's, because the company tends to take a "cautious approach to expansion."

Either way, it will soon be easier to "Eat Mor Chikin" around here.
