Eco-chic retreat Silken Tent hosts its second annual Earth Day event

Silken Tent, an environmentally friendly sanctuary in north suburban Glenview that was recently voted "Best Green Spa" by the readers of Skin Inc. magazine, is the perfect place to learn how to balance looking and feeling good without damaging our bodies or the planet in the process.

The retreat's soul-satisfying services, wellness treatments and yoga classes are good for you and the environment, while the retail offerings also include a selection of natural and organic skin and body products.

From 12-5PM on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26, Silken Tent will present "Harm Not, Look Hot," its second annual Earth Day celebration.

The festivities will begin with a kick-off party from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, featuring a complimentary outdoor Karma Intro to Yoga class at 1p.m. and makeovers using organic Nvey Eco products. (Bring on the 80-degree temps!)

Environmentally-friendly offerings from such companies as Omala Activewear, Nvey Eco organic makeup and Colette soy-based candles will be showcased during the two-day event. 

Guests can also enter to win a variety of raffle prizes. Ten percent of all proceeds from the "Harm Not, Look Hot" event will benefit The Nature Conservancy, an global organization that works to protect ecologically important land and water systems.
