She's had her ups (multiplatinum albums, Grammys galore) and her downs (can you say "wardrobe malfunction?"), but Janet Jackson is still fabulous and will soon be 43. Her birthday is May 16, but Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club will get an early jump on the festivities on Thursday, May 14 with a blowout bash worthy of a bona fide diva.
The Janet Jackson Tribute Night will pay homage to the pint-size superstar with drink specials, themed menu items and a performance by "Kit Kat Diva" Traci Ross portraying Ms. Jackson herself at 7:30PM. Thursdays at the Lakeview lounge are also '80s Flashback Nights, so Janet videos and movies will be shown on five large-screen TVs throughout the evening. (Bring on the "Good Times" and "Diff'rent Strokes" reruns!)
A featured martini, appropriately dubbed the "Ms. Jackson if You're Nasty," will be made with VOX Raspberry Vodka, pineapple juice and a splash of lemonade ($5). Other Thursday night drink discounts include $5 you-call-it VOX Vodka cocktails and Cruzan Rum mojitos, along with half-priced bottles of wine with two entrees. Janet-inspired menu items, such as the "Wardrobe Malfunction," which is green bean-and-parmesan soup (what, no chicken breast?) ($6), the "Rhythm Nation," bacon-wrapped scallops with a maple glaze over baby greens ($10), and "Control," pepper-seared ahi tuna with an Asian-style cabbage salad and wasabi-potato puree ($20), will honor the pop icon.
Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club will be open on Thursday from 5:30PM until 2AM.
